2005-2009 in Summary

During my time as an art student at Alfred, it was hard for me to pick a direction and get focused, but glass finally won out - I couldn't stay away from it. I was afraid that once I chose a medium, all of the other materials I loved would fall by the wayside, but once I chose to work primarily with glass I realized that I wasn't as limited as I had imagined I'd be.


Welding and paper-making are two things I wish I could continue with, and absolutely will if I get the chance. It was definitely harder to make time to work with other materials once I started focusing on glass, but as hard as I try to not pick favorites, hot glass remains my true love.


So for now I will buy myself a torch and get set up for lampworking. Hopefully it will come together in the coming month, if not in the coming weeks.
